A workshop which will show you how to paint with pulverized mineral pigment in the traditional Japanese “Nihonga” technique.  We will use gold fan-shaped mulberry paper, which has been used to present poetry or paintings since the Heian period (794 A.D.).  Its shape expresses the Japanese aesthetic ideal of “elegance” and is seen as a “medium reflecting the heart” in gifts and ceremonies.  Come paint a piece of your heart to give to a beloved someone, or yourself!
