About Jan:
Jan Prisco is a pastel and oil painter who focuses on paintings of the San Francisco Peninsula and surrounding areas. Most of her paintings are begun plein air (on location) with an emphasis on simplification and value while capturing vibrant color and light.
Her work can be viewed online at www.janprisco.com.
In addition to exhibiting her work for twelve years at Portola Art Gallery and currently being represented by QD Gallery at Stanford Mall, Jan teaches both plein air and studio classes for Pacific Art League in Palo Alto. Especially well known for her seascape and wavescape paintings, Jan is an award-winning artist whose work has been juried into local, national and international shows. Two of her past paintings were selected by Filoli to be used for products sold at Filoli’s Garden Shop.
