CALIFORNIA LANDSCAPES BY JIM CALDWELL
Exhibition at Atherton City Hall

​About Jim:
Born in New York in 1942, Jim Caldwell moved to Atherton in 1950. After graduating in art from Williams College in 1964, he spent the next year in Paris painting and studying etching at the Ecole des Beaux Arts. He received his Master of Architecture Degree in 1969 from the Yale School of Architecture, and he has specialized in residential design for 38 years (including his own house). He started painting actively again 40 years ago and has accumulated an impressive body of work. Jim has had over 50 one-man shows, and his paintings are represented in more than 530 collections world-wide.
Jim has taught painting and drawing for over 25 years.
Although best known for his California Landscapes, Jim has traveled widely and his work includes scenes as diverse as Venice, and the African cats. He has published two monographs on his landscapes and has given 130 illustrated talks on his favorite artists.

CALL FOR ART: VETERAN ART SHOW
The exhibition will take place on November 16-17, 2025 at the Jennings Pavilion at Holbrook Palmer Park,150 Watkins Avenue, Atherton California.

How to submit: DEADLINE IS OCTOBER 24, 2025 (notification of acceptance no later than Nov. 3)
All service members, veterans and their families are invited to submit a photo of their art entry to be considered for the Veteran Art Show. The number of pieces allowed per artist will be determined by the number of artists in the show and the size of the artwork.
Type of art work: painting, drawing, photography, ceramics, sculpture (table size), wood working (table size), fibers/fabric, recycled/reclaimed articles.
