JAPANESE TOTE BAGS (Skill level: Advanced Beginner, Intermediate) A SERIES OF 3 CLASSES
This class has been requested by several students who have traveled to Japan and loved the crafty tote bags they saw. I have developed several bag patterns to teach different piecing techniques using 2 ½” fabric strips
(commonly known as “jelly rolls”). Students will learn how to use an Accuquilt fabric cutter, accurately sew
fabric pieces together, add stability and structure to the bag using either batting or foam, how to sew a welt
zipper pocket in the lining, and a new style of handle. Your selection of fabrics can dramatically change the look
of these versatile bags. This project is also a good introduction to quilting technique. This will be no ordinary
