PoWeR! Book Bags is a community service sewing project. We will be making (as many as possible!) holiday book bags for disadvantaged and underserved kids. These book bags will be filled with new books and supplies to encourage literacy, language, play, writing, creativity and social interactions. Children will be able to choose several books along with a beautiful handmade book bag and thus begin their own home book collection! Let's support this organization and these young students!
These bags are very simple to sew – just straight lines. You don’t even need to know how to sew; we’ll teach you. We’ll provide ALL equipment and supplies - sewing machines, sergers, fabrics and supplies. Bring a friend and enjoy an afternoon of sewing!
